What is peri menopause?

Peri menopause is the period in a woman’s life where her body starts the transition towards menopause. Menopause is the point where you haven’t had a menstrual period for at least twelve months.

 

It’s a point in life where, to be blunt, you can feel pretty crappy in a number of ways, such as:

Hot flushes out of nowhere

Disrupted sleep

Night sweats

Weight gain

Mood swings

Exhaustion

Peri menopause can be a bitch. You might feel upset and anxious one day, then full of rage and forgetfulness the next.

 

You might have hot flashes or cold sweats, feel like you’re just about to throw up or you might have crushing headaches.

 

If you’re really unlikely like me, you might have those and a shitload more, too.

 

The reason for all the pantomime of symptoms are that are hormones are on a massive rollercoaster, with fast track passes.
